No Dec 29 Meeting - Next NPC Meeting Dec 6 on #OSCC19

Nonprofit Commons in Second Life will not be meeting this Friday, November 29 to observe the US Thanksgiving holiday. NPC is grateful for such an amazing community.

Intro to Discord for the October 18th Nonprofit Commons Meeting

Join us Friday, October 18th for the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life meeting, which will feature an intro to Discord. Discord is a text0chat and Voice Over IP (VOIP) tool that allows you to create or join social community chat servers and channels (similar to Slack), post text chat and photo/videos (like Facebook groups), join group voice chat (like Teamspeak), and direct call people (like Skype). Come learn about Discord and how you can use it for your professional educational / nonprofit team or social community.

Fake News for Senior Citizens for October 4th Nonprofit Commons Meeting

Join us Friday, October 4 at 8:30 AM SLT at the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life where Valerie Hill / Valibrarian of the Community Virtual Library is presenting "Fake News for Senior Citizens". She will be sharing how to spot fake news online and strategies on how to check sources and not contribute to misinformation sharing. And....this session is applicable to all age groups- not just seniors
Gentle Heron will also do a brief mentor's presentation on how to “Safeguard Your Attention at Work.”

Join us this Friday, September 27, the Nonprofit Commons in Second Life hosts "Pondering Patterns: A Provocative Phosphene Art Education Game" with Mary Lou Stokrocki / Marylou Goldrosen and Renne Emiko Brock / Zinnia Zauber as part of the Virtual Worlds MOOC! From NPC Plush, we head to Zinnia’s sim to explore the game Marylou teaches using Zinnia’s art and interactive lessons. 

Learn about Exploratory Art Criticism, the search for meaning in Art Treasures, and your own interpretation of creativity.
